Earthworks Enhancements Case Study

A regrade of the existing cutting was required, however the adjacent depot used the siding so coordination around train movements was paramount.  As well as OHLE, excavators and materials had to work under HV cables, a gas pipe had to be bridged over and a BT cable was moved.  The excavation and regrade removed this slope from Network Rail’s high risk category and, by working around train movements, resulted in a “best-for-project” solution.
