Minor Works Case Study

Since August 2013, QTS have delivered civils asset management items for Network Rail Works Delivery in the Western region. The works vary from structural repairs, de-vegetation, drainage clearing works, earthworks, rock cutting or scour protection. We have also been tasked with carrying out Badger burrowing/relocation and rabbit netting.

To date, we have carried out 305 badger relocations, 52,000m2 of Vegetation Clearance, installed 24,183m2 of badger netting and 22,390m2 or rabbit netting. Due to our multi skilled workforce and specialist plant fleet, most work items are implemented using our own resources; ensuring a smooth delivery and efficient outputs.

We have also invested in new technologies to facilitate speed and quality of communication between our management and delivery teams (e.g. each delivery gang uses iPads to receive site instructions and issue completion information).
