Electrification Case Study

East Linton current scheme is to install a new station to serve an ever-growing population, to serve the station program, the works are to install a brand new station with 2 platforms on the East Coast Main line, which are accessible from each side of the rail way, the station will have an access for all access to accommodate persons with disabilities or poor mobility.

QTS REL were contracted by Bam Nuttall to construct the new return conductor anchors with new terminations.  x 2 portal booms and associated OLE SPS and cantilevers. Transfer all the existing OLE conductors to the newly installed equipment, integrated with track works programme to assist with OLE adjustments after the tamping works, the tamping works were required to lift the track through the new station to meet track geometry compliance  return, each section of the platform them had to be tested for continuity once connected to its neighbouring section.

All the overline equipment has been transferred to the new equipment with the old masts and cantilevers removed. The works completed after final registration was carried out following a tamper which lifted the track a massive 200mm to comply with the new station platform installation
