QTS Group has been shortlisted in two categories at the 2026 Scottish Transport Awards, recognising its rail infrastructure work on the Edinburgh–Glasgow line and its community-focused outdoor learning project with Abington Primary School.

QTS Group is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted in two categories at the 2026 Scottish Transport Awards.

Now in its 23rd year, the Scottish Transport Awards bring together industry leaders, operators, and local authorities to highlight achievements that are shaping the future of transport and communities across Scotland.

QTS has been shortlisted in the Rail Supplier of the Year thanks to delivery of high-quality infrastructure works such as the vegetation management conducted on the Edinburgh–Glasgow line, one of Scotland’s most heavily used rail corridors.  This work included 46 track miles of vegetation clearance with the use of the state-of-the-art Mega Chipper. Specialist IRATA teams were also deployed to reach difficult areas.

QTS also continues to demonstrate its commitment to developing talent and supporting employee wellbeing. The business holds the Investors in Young People Platinum accreditation and is an active member of the 5% Club. The QTS Rail Skills Academy, which launched in 2022, supports a consistent pipeline of talent for the rail industry at large. The programme has already supported 12 cohorts and helped 112 young people into employment, including 31 who have gone on to join QTS.

The company also leads the way in workforce health initiatives, becoming one of the first rail contractors to offer cancer screening as part of annual health surveillance. More than 2,400 screenings have been carried out to date, leading to early detection and diagnosis for seven members of the team, six of whom showed no prior symptoms.

Also shortlisted in the Excellence in Social & Community Value category, QTS has been recognised for the transformational community project delivered alongside major works on the West Coast Mainline at Crawford. Partnering with Abington Primary School, the team took on a derelict, unsafe piece of land adjacent to the school and transformed it into a fully accessible outdoor learning and play environment. Staff contributed over 300 volunteer hours and planted 250 trees with pupils.

We are incredibly honoured to be shortlisted for not just one, but two Scottish Transport Awards. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and innovation of our teams.
We’re passionate about contributing to a safer, greener, and more connected Scotland, and it’s fantastic to see that effort acknowledged at a national level.
