QTS shortlisted for prestigious UK sponsorship awards
February 2018
Leading rail infrastructure contractor, QTS, has been shortlisted for two categories supporting grass root sports at the prestigious UK Sponsorship Awards.
A proud advocate of young people in sport, the QTS Youth Athlete programme has been shortlisted in the Charity & Community Engagement Sponsorship and Grass Roots Sports Sponsorship in these national awards, against other top brands such as Land Rover, McDonalds Restaurants and Movember.
Launched in 2014, the QTS Youth Athlete programme has supported over 11 young athletes from a range of sporting disciplines including boxing, skiing, snowboarding, ice dance, swimming and tennis. Current athletes include alpine skier, Nicole Ritchie from Bearsden and boxer Kieran McMaster from Kilmarnock.
Alan McLeish, managing director of The QTS Group, commented:
“As a business, QTS has a strong inclusion ethos as a business and is committed to working for the future of young people through a variety of channels, including via growth in grassroots sport.
“It’s a real thrill for us to watch them develop and grow, all while proudly wearing the QTS logo. We’ve invested heavily in them and nurtured them through the programme, so to have the recognition from the UK Sponsorship Awards makes everyone involved feel very proud.
“For us, if we can say that we were part of the journey for the next big sporting star, we'll be pleased to know that we helped create an athlete who can inspire people to invest in sport.”
The UK Sponsorship Awards take place on the 27th March 2018 at a glittering gala dinner, held at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel.
