QTS is working with CK Contracts to deliver a new version of the Rail Skills Academy for young people in North Ayrshire.
Delivered by QTS Training and inspired by the success of the previous QTS Rail Skills Academy, the CK Contracts Skills Academy offers North Ayrshire residents who are unemployed an incredible opportunity. They will undertake a wide range of rail and construction courses as well as gain valuable on-site work experience. Candidates will also be offered a job with CK Contracts on successful completion of the course.
The CK Contracts Skills Academy will equip participants with the skills and experience required to succeed in the railway and construction sector. They will gain an insight to health and safety, track safety and track induction together with a range of competencies and qualifications, while also developing general employability skills.
”QTS Training is delighted to work with CK Contracts to deliver their first CK Contracts Skills Academy. Having worked closely with Managing Director, Kris Kinnear, and Head of Projects, Joe Mulvenna, on the Levenmouth Rail Skills Academy, we are excited that they have now chosen to develop their own Skills Academy and offer such a fantastic opportunity to North Ayrshire residents.

”This is an amazing opportunity that we are all very excited about. It’s a priority for all of us in the industry to introduce and encourage young people into the rail industry. Our first CK Contract cohort will have the chance to learn and gain work experience to help them get a jump start on their career. Anyone who joins our course and successfully completes the Skills Academy will be offered a position with the company, it’s a fantastic opportunity and I look forward to seeing them seize it.
