QTS attends National School and College Leavers Show
March 2023
QTS, along with partner rail contractors recently attended the National School and College Leaver Show (NSCL) 2023 to highlight the routes available to a rewarding railway career.
QTS, Story Contracting, AmcoGiffen and BAM Nuttall, who work with Network Rail (who also attended) to deliver railway projects across Scotland, showcased the opportunities this dynamic industry has to offer during the two-day event on March 28 and March 29 at the SEC in Glasgow.
School and college leavers attending the show engaged with staff who perform a variety of roles within the industry from engineering to finance, project management to procurement and ecology to planning.
The hugely diverse range of jobs that make up the industry each play an important part in helping to run, maintain and develop a service used by millions of passengers, and freight customers, each year.
Workforce development co-ordinator Jane McFadzean said: "It was great couple of days at the show, we got to speak with young people from all over Scotland and were able to make them aware of some of the fantastic opportunities available not just within QTS but the wider rail industry.
"Attending alongside our partner contractors made the experience all the more worthwhile as we were able to give an even more rounded view of what the rail industry has to offer."
