IT Engineer

Role and responsibilities:

The IT Engineer, reporting to the IT & Communications Manager, shall have a comprehensive understanding of a variety of information technology systems including, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Windows OS, Networking, iOS/Android OS, RMM software, MDM software, amongst others. They will utilise this understanding to assist in the general support across the whole IT and Communications systems of the QTS Group.

• Technical Support: Provide first-line and second-line support to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and assist with problem resolution.
• System Maintenance: Perform assigned system maintenance tasks, including software updates, patches, and security configurations.
• Network Administration: Contribute to the maintenance of the company’s network and wireless network infrastructure.
• Documentation: Create and update technical documentation, including user guides, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the IT team to contribute to ongoing projects and gain exposure to a variety of IT disciplines.
• Cyber Security: Contribute to the ongoing protection of the IT infrastructure from security threats.
• Training and Development: Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and stay current with industry trends.
• Assist in any other aspect of the Company where required.

For the role of IT Engineer you should have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

• Enthusiastic attitude and a strong desire develop technical skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Technical certifications are preferred but not required.
